Holidays from The Evening Rise Staff!
Here are some events that you’ll want to make note of
and put in your calendar of “things to do”! Keep busy
in the winter and sign up for one of our fly tying
classes! Class fee includes plenty of one-on-one
instruction, refreshments and promises to be a good time!
Class is open to men and women of all ages! Be sure
to stop buy the store during the holiday season! We have
some neat gifts for anglers of all ages and also for your
dog. We are now carrying the Orvis Dog Beds, Collars,
Leads and other neat items!
There are plenty of
new items coming in January 2003! Also stop by and check
for any discontinued product that we have on sale!
Manufacturers sometimes overbuy or discontinue products. We
always have something on SALE! Be sure to stop in and
check!
Now is a good time to think about a Fishing Trip in the
middle of February!
I am hosting a trip of
a lifetime to the BELIZE RIVER LODGE, February
15-21, 2003! We currently have one opening left.
Be sure to contact me at the store if you would like to
come! Call me for prices and flight details. Fish for the
Saltwater Grand Slam! Bonefish, Tarpon, Snook, and Permit!

Basic Fly Tying
Class – Level 1 (*Beginners Class)

Class Dates: Jan 25, Feb 1, 8, 15, 2003
Saturday Mornings: 8am to 11am
Class Fee: $69.00 per Student
*Students need no prior fly tying experience or skill to
attend!
Learn the basic skills needed to tie your own fishing
flies for Trout and Bass!
Basic Fly Tying Class – Level 1 (*Beginners
Class)

Class Dates: Feb 27, March 6, 13, 20, 2003
Thursday Evenings: 6:30pm to 9pm
Class Fee: $69.00 per Student

Basic Fly Tying Class – Level
2 (**Must
have had the level 1 or a Basic class to attend)

Class Dates: February 6, 13, 2003
Thursday Evenings: 6:30pm to 9pm
Class Fee: $50.00 per Student
**This class is not geared for beginners! Must have had
the level 1 class or another Basic Class to attend!
This class will continue where we left in the Level 1
class. The flies will be a more challenging and emphasis
will be on technique and neatness!
Classic Dry Flies and Nymphs Fly
Tying Class
Instructor: Shop Pro Tyer: George McGinnis
Class Dates: February 1, 8, 2003
Saturday Afternoon: 1 – 5pm
Class Fee: $75.00 per Student
Learn the tricks needed to tie small and detailed dry
flies and nymphs. George McGinnis ties hundreds of flies
for our store and is a master at his craft. Learn neat and
detailed techniques used by George to tie his patterns and
those of past and present innovators. This class is
geared for the intermediate to advanced fly tyer.
Students must have had both the level 1 and 2 class and be
able to tie small flies in sizes 16-22.
Learn to tie the classic and
contemporary patterns and be prepared to take notes. This
is a serious class geared for those who want to learn!
Mid Atlantic Saltwater Flies*
Instructor: Nick DelleDonne
Class Dates: February 28, March 7, 2003
Friday Evenings: 6:30pm to 9pm
Class Fee: $ 60.00 per Student
The general interest for saltwater
flies and fly fishing have grown substantially. This class
will cover patterns and techniques used to tie popular
saltwater patterns of the Mid Atlantic Coastal Region.
Learn to tie the popular coastal and estuary fly patterns
for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, False Albacore and Sea
Trout. Nick will also cover patterns popular to the
Chesapeake Bay Region and the North Carolina Outer Banks
and Core Banks Regions. This promises to be a fun and
informative class. *Students must have had the Basic
Level 1 class or equivalent to attend. This is not a
beginner class!
